Our Story
Hi, I’m Richard – and Welcome to Bark Town 🐾
I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. There’s just something about their loyalty, energy, and goofy personalities that’s always made them feel like family. After years of dreaming about building something special for dogs and their people, Bark Town was born.
In 2023, my wife Claire, our three awesome kids, and our three dogs made the big leap from BC all the way to Berwick, Nova Scotia. We were looking for a slower pace, a strong community, and a bit of land to stretch out on — and we found it.
We settled on a beautiful little farm just outside town, and I saw something special in the old barn out back. With a lot of hard work (and a bit of love and sawdust), we transformed it into Bark Town — a cozy, safe, and fun space for dogs to play, explore, and feel right at home.
For me, Bark Town isn’t just a business — it’s a way of life. I believe dogs deserve more than a quick walk or a fenced backyard. They thrive on connection, stimulation, and being part of a pack. That’s exactly what we offer here, along with plenty of belly rubs and tail wags.
Berwick has been nothing but welcoming, and I’m proud to be part of this community. Whether your pup needs daycare, social time, or just a safe spot to be their silly, happy self — Bark Town is here, and we can’t wait to meet you both.
